Layer Home Speaker

My project brief was to create a product using Layer's design language.

Layer is a research based design studio in London led by

Benjamin Hubert. It drives its designs with their simple statements, functional intelligence, and meaningful materiality. Their mission is to create smart products and interactive experiences for consumers.

This project was also a collaboration with my dye class, so the fabric was hand dyed by myself using disperse dye. As part of my dye class project, I also dyed 30 sample swatches and created texture maps. Some of these swatches match Layer's design approach while others met the standards of the dye class.
